Description

Early Worm is an indie games company based in Melbourne.
We are all passionate gamers and developers united in our desire to create content accessible to all kinds of people, bringing them together in a universal language – fun! The games we make are diverse, ranging from educational and soothing to spooky and surreal.

History

History and Start Up

Early Worm was founded in 2015 by a team of 7 graduates from the Academy of Interactive Entertainment in Melbourne.
Most of us had been making games together the year previously, moving forwards and starting a company together was a no-brainer.
With the help of our University, we set up and settled into an office of our very own, where we are currently working on Skedaddle.

Skedaddle

In May of 2015, Skedaddle's conception was decided upon after a series of heated discussions between the artists and the rest of the team.
Our artists preferred to model animal characters, while the team wanted to create a horror, or something stylised and cute. We finally had the idea of throwing a circus into the mix, and the compromise was born.

After fine-tuning our idea for 5 months, we got the stage where we were invited to showcase Skedaddle at Unite Melbourne 2015, where it won the "Best Student game" award.
This secured our place in the "Student Showcase" at Games Connect Asia Pacific (GCAP). With these successes under our belt, we just knew we had to keep going.
